What little "instant-patriotism" (just add war!!) I've had over the last few months was quickly sapped when I saw the "Donut Mess With The US!" shirt on the sweaty back of the Dunkin Donuts employee. I rarly watch the idiot box these days and Im sure that everyone in the hemisphere is coping with the war in the same immature way that we always do: make fun of it.

Enter Saddam, Mao, Stalin, Bin Laden, Kahn, Alexander, Nero, Butcher of Choice:

Butcher(Signing): "Oh what a beautiful morning..."

Nervous General: Good Morning your wrathfulness.

Butcher: Did we succeed erasing all memory of that insignifigant group of dark-skinned people.

General: Yes your magesty ("Allah Akbar" - if needed) they thought they shame us when they showed thier back's to us and ran for thier lives, but we put the mongrals to the blade anyway. Why could they just sit and accept their fate?

Butcher: I feel like weeping 'cause there's no more world's to conquer...

(audiance burst of laughter as applause sign comes on)

I don't see this stuff, im just assuming the satire shows make sure that we've laughed enough to remove all the human element from the war.  Hence the reason the 50%-50% cotton-polyester made such an impact on me.

All of the bombs, all the guns, all the fear, all the fatigue, all the refuges, all the death, all the blood, all the liberation, all of the Earth-shaking, History-Making events reduced down to an advertising slogan for wheat and sugar.

Never assume that we as a corporate people have any noble agenda. Westerners are simply on top because they've proved to be better killers and colonizers. This world really is Babylon. Money runs the show folks.

Things are heating up in the world today, arn't they? I often wonder if i would count myself blessed if I were living in an age where I wasn't made so aware of the war, disease, and cruelty that we're reminded of 700 times a day by our media conglamorate of choice.

Sure Dark Age peasents lived to be 32 (if lucky) and were subjegated to Jefferey the Inquisitor on a bi-anual basis, but imagine the bliss of ignorance!

I guess the grass is never greener, except in Switzerland.

This being my first log entry into something that will undoubtably change no one and effect nothing but the Xanga's server speed, I'll submit future thoughts with an air of caution.
